Delete your account and data

You can delete your CoinScan account at any time from inside the app. It takes less than a minute.

Delete your account in the app

  1. Open your Profile

Tap Profile in the tab bar, then the gear icon at the top right.

  2. Choose Delete Account

In Settings & Account, tap Delete Account, then Delete Account again on the next screen.

  3. Confirm

Type DELETE to confirm. If you use Sign in with Apple, you are also asked to confirm with Apple.

Deleting your account does not cancel an App Store subscription. Cancel it first in the iPhone Settings app › your name › Subscriptions.

What is deleted

Deletion happens immediately and cannot be undone. From CoinScan's servers and your iPhone it permanently removes:

  • Your login (email and password, or your Sign in with Apple link)
  • Your profile
  • Your vault: coins, notes, purchase prices and storage locations
  • Your scan history and daily scan counts
  • Your record of accepting the Terms and Privacy Policy

What is not deleted

  • Feedback you sent in the app is kept without any link to you.
  • Purchase records held by Apple and RevenueCat follow their own policies.
  • Photos in your iPhone's photo library are yours and are not touched.

Other privacy choices

Export your data

Profile › gear icon › Settings & Account › Data Management & Privacy › Export My Data creates a file with your vault and scan history.

Clear your scan history

Delete individual scans in History, or clear all of them in Data Management & Privacy › Clear Scan History.

Camera and photos

Turn camera access on or off in the iPhone Settings app › CoinScan. Choosing a photo from your library does not need photo-library permission.

No tracking

CoinScan does not track you across other companies' apps or websites and has no advertising or analytics SDKs, so there is nothing to opt out of.

Can't open the app or sign in?

Email coinscan.support@gmail.com from the email address on your CoinScan account and ask for your account to be deleted. If you used Sign in with Apple with Hide My Email, send the request from the email address Apple forwards to and tell us. Without an account, CoinScan's servers keep only a daily scan count tied to a one-way hash of your app installation and network, which is not linked to you; delete the app to remove everything stored on your iPhone.
